Sample A Class

Available weekdays during the fall, spring and summer terms.
For freshmen and transfers.

Sit in on a University class. To participate, check the current schedule and report directly to the designated building and room. Most classes are 50 minutes long. On some days, examinations will be administered. We have no way of monitoring that and suggest that you quietly leave the class if this is the case.

College of Business Administration Information Sessions

Monday, Thursday, and Friday only at 1:30 p.m.
Allow about 60 minutes.
Designed for Freshmen.

Learn how Pitt Business takes students from the classroom, to the city, to the world. The session is conducted by a member of the Pitt Business admissions team. It will focus on our academic program, experience-based learning opportunities, internships, career development, student life, global options, and more.

If you plan on visiting other than the times/days listed above please call 412-383-9600 to make an appointment.

College of General Studies Information Sessions

Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.
Allow about 60 minutes.
Designed for students interested in CGS majors.
No need to call ahead; just go to 1400 Wesley W. Posvar Hall (1st Floor).

Swanson School of Engineering Tours

Monday and Friday at noon and 1 p.m.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at 1 p.m.

Allow about 90 minutes.

Tour the engineering facilities, labs and classrooms along with hearing information on the freshman engineering curriculum and engineering student services with a current Pitt engineering student. A first-year engineering program staff member will also be available after the tour for questions.

No appointment or registration is necessary for Swanson School of Engineering tours at the days and times listed above. If you have additional questions you can contact the First-Year Engineering Program Office at 412-624-9825.

The Swanson School will not be offering tours from August 22-26, during move-in and orientation for incoming freshmen.

Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences

May 19 through August 18
Friday only at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Allow about 60 minutes.

School of Nursing Information Sessions/Tours

BSN Information Session for Freshmen and External Transfer Students: Friday at 1 p.m.
Internal Pitt Transfer Session: Tuesday at 4 p.m. (fall & spring terms only)

School of Pharmacy Information Sessions/Tours

Daily Tours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Leaving from 904 Salk Hall, The Curran Center for Pharmacy Students – this is strictly a tour of Salk Hall – home of PittPharmacy.

If you are planning to visit campus, you may schedule a personalized visit with a PittPharmacy admissions team member at 412-383-9000 or e-mail us at rxschool@pitt.edu. This session will provide you with information about our academic program, experience–based learning opportunities, student life, global options, and more. If you call ahead, an RxAmbassador* (enrolled PharmD student) will be available to answer questions and lead your tour. Allow about 75 minutes for the information session and tour.

*Enrolled Pharmacy students are not in session during the summer. However, if you inform us of when you will be visiting, an RxAmbassador will be scheduled to greet you!

University Honors College Information Sessions

Monday and Friday only at 1 p.m.
Session is informal; stay as long as you like.
No need to call ahead; just go to the 35th Floor of the Cathedral of Learning.
Freshmen and transfers welcome.

Study Abroad Office Open Houses

Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Allow 15-30 minutes

Our advisors can help you combine your study abroad experience with a certificate program in African, Asian, European Union, Latin American, Russian and East European, Western European, or Global Studies. You can study abroad as early as the summer after your freshman year.

Group Visits

If you are interested in scheduling a visit for a group of 10 or more students, you must contact the the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid Undergraduate Visitor Center directly at 412-624-7717.

Group Visits must be scheduled at least two weeks in advanced and can only be scheduled Monday-Friday based on availability.
